Dr.A.Gajanan Rao, Chairman, of A.G.Hospital, Gajanan Hospitals Pvt. Ltd., has dedicated himself to Healthcare, for over 55 years. He graduated with an MBBS, from Stanley Medical College, in 1966. Soon after the completion of his Degree, he started Medical practice, in Tambaram, Chennai. During his practice, he found a lacuna of proper medical facilities, and hospital in the area, surrounded by villages, for a radius of around 70kms, which he was catering to. With a vision of improving healthcare, for the people in these areas, he started a hospital, in 1979, one of the first of its kind, with an Operation Theatre, Emergency Casualty, and wards, for proper medical treatment, and care. For want of more space, the hospital grew to a 50 bedded one, in its own premesis, in 1989, with better equipped medical facilities. As the hospital became more popular, for its care, and treatment, there was a need for an expansion of Multi Speciality units. Two units have been established, one in Tambaram, close to the main unit, and the other in Chromepet. Both are 20 bedded, with the latest facilities, for surgeries, and treatment. In addition to this, there is a Day Care Centre, in Padappai, a town near Tambaram. Dr.A.Gajanan Rao’s ( Chairman) primary concern is for Healthcare to reach all levels of Society, irrespective of their economic background. GHPL, operates its units with these principles in view.
